Lo. Let the people celebrate with bells. And whistles. And with they who are pleasing to the eye when scantily clad. And with they who like to sing but not too loud. And also with they who can do fancy tricks with those funny little wooden boards with the wheels on the bottom. And yea, also let them celebrate with they who eat sulphurous foods yet do not foul the air. And verily as well let they who enjoy a drink now and again do so, primarily with fermented beverages drawn from the grain family, principally hops and also barley.
Let there be joy, for we have endured the Crunch, and verily wrought forth the wonder that is Civ DS, asset complete, and ready to be polished. Go forth, therefore, and polish.
Yes, yes. We here at Firaxis have been frantically pounding away on our new game, Civilization Revolution, coming soon to an XBOX360 and PS3 near you. But while the rest of the team has been preparing the XBOX and PS3 versions, our tiny band of art monkeys have been busting our humps in a flat out run to get a version ready for the Nintendo DS. Early last week, we basically got all the Art for the DS version done and into the game.
Now, we’ll spend the rest of our time on the project polishing the assets that are already in the game, basically replacing the stuff that was deemed Good Enough To Ship with stuff that is Better. Maybe even Much Better. So, that’s what we’re a-doin’ now.
There endeth the lesson.
Amen.

Great new Steve… congrats to you and your team. I know how good it feels wrapping up a project. Look forward to seeing the finished assets!
Now I may just have to follow through with my threat and get me a DS. I’ve been thinking about it but my folks think I’m nuts wasting money on that…

The DS is dollar for dollar the best buy. It’s only around $130 and tons of fun. Zelda Twilight Princess is fantastic. Civ DS is like portable crack if I do say so myself. And may I recommend Brain Age to keep yourself sharp.
