Trying to go for more character moments and more interaction. I’m not quite there – the salesman is more watching than anything, but I’m hoping there’s the feeling that he’s on the cusp of a sale, and this is the pivotal moment: he’s finally found the right car for the right buyer.

Steve, I’m really enjoying your latest iteration of illustrations. You seem to have found your flow, and it really shows. Being a Drawergeek must be cool too!
I love it–the colors, and I want a clown car
Awesome!
Do you use Adobe Illustrator or another program?
Oh and I tried to join that Drawer Geeks site but I never heard back from the admin.

Leh – I draw these illos old-school, pencil on paper, then ink them on paper. Then I scan them into the computer and color them in Photoshop. Many people are switching to drawing directly in the computer with a wacom tablet, but I haven’t been able to make the transition. I just don’t get the same line quality in the computer. I need the texture and resistance of paper against the nib of my pen. After 30 years of inking, it’s a very hard habit to break, but I value my line quality and I’ll do what I have to to preserve it.
Ah, DrawerGeeks. It’s by invitation only. :/
