If you want to see the three adverts I worked on over the winter – which alternately inspired me to try to make Moon Town on my own, and pulled me away from the project – I’ve posted them up at the Steve Ogden NEWS.

I cracked up when I saw these. Did you do everything in these? The mouse one must have taken some time.
I did everything on these except model the characters and animate them. I wrote them, directed them, built, textured, and rendered all the backgrounds, designed everything including the characters, and art directed the whole affair. It was a big job, 3 animated adverts in just over 2 months.
The mouse one actually didn’t take the longest. That distinction goes to the cuckoo spot, as it contained several different locales including a distant and close-up shot of the city.
But the mouse spot was a close second, and the penguin spot was the easiest.
The penguin spot was the most effective. It’s something I see time and time again: amateurs go over the top and “over animate” but pros know when to pull back and let the image speak for itself. This is a perfect example of this.
