If it’s September, I must have shipped another game… Oh, yeah! Civ IV Colonization is out the door! YEAH! Sing it! Celebrate!
And in fact we did celebrate down at the ol’ An Poitin Stil last night, where our bar tab looked more like a Christmas list. The barkeep rolled that thing out on the bar and it kept on a-rollin’.
That’s how it came to pass that Tom Symonds snapped this picture of me (click for the whole, sad thing). You have to understand that in my head, what I was doing was super-cool, a sort of gravity-defying feat of Spidermanishness. What I looked like, unfortunately, is another thing altogether. “Gargoyle” was one of the kindest things bandied about. “Gollum” was just uncalled-for.
LOL, yeah Gollum is it! Hilarious man. Don’t worry Steve, it’s not easy being green, we know.
Game looks cool – I’ve wasted many an hour on Civ games, so I won’t be buying this lest my wife put the beatdown on me

Quasimodo!!? OK, I don’t see you guys putting horrible, dorky photographs of yourselves up, subjecting yourselves to the petty and often cruel namecalling of the general public! Hmmf.
Lehsa – No, this isn’t the one for DS. That would be Civ Rev for DS which I trumpeted a few months back. Colonization is an expansion pack for Civ IV, on which I was lead back in 2004 and 2005.
If you like Civilization, I think you will find Civ Rev DS to be like crack because since the DS is portable, you never have to put it down…
All those late night desk sessions might not be so bad now, eh?

Hope you guys get down to making a Civ 5 soon overthere at Firaxis. Civilization has been one of the real timestealing games since the early 1990ies.

Paul – I’m ashamed to say the guys at work are used to stuff like this. It wouldn’t even phase them if I got up on the bar and danced a jig. Don’t ask me how I know.
A jig – also commonly known is some circles as “the white-boy dance” is the only dance any self-respecting 3D animator/Graphic artist from a predominantly caucasian background SHOULD know.
Shame on THEM.
