I guess I have a question for you all: on the question of doing the strip in color or black and white -
Would you prefer 2 color strips a week, or 5 black and whites?
To help you decide, here are the styles:

I love the colored versions. It really adds to the comic and I believe gives it better context visually.
I agree that the color adds a lot, but what do you have more fun making?
Interesting question, Deathmonkey. I enjoy both equally, yet the color take a lot longer. I can pound out a black and white over lunch, but it takes me a whole evening to color them, which cuts into my extracurricular life a little more than I’m comfortable.
But I like the color much more. I guess it’s a question of quantity over quality, but I’m not sure how much more the color improves the quality. It’s not a difference between ugly and pretty, it’s a difference between pretty and prettier.
Ultimately, you readers would sway me, because I’d rather take the route which supports a growing readership.
Hey Steve,
I thought I was going to say black and white, but the colored one in the example is just easier to read.
I’m going to say it’s because the background shrubbery is a light green rather than filled in black.
My suggestion to you is to do both! Just like the sunday strip, you can have a colored strip once a week. That way it would be more special, and you wouldn’t have to sink the extra time, so you can spend it with those kids of yours.
Or more importantly, your other brain children
What if you did 2 or 3 black and white strips and one color strip per week? Would a schedule like that be workable?
I'm gonna go against the grain here, and say I prefer the black and white. There is just something about it… it's like there's a suggestion of texture, and you can imagine whatever colors you wish. The colors – while beautiful – soften the overall look, and lock it into a specific style. I kinda like the edgyness of the B&W.
But hey, just my opinion.
