AKAinuitThe Winter Olympics are here once again and STUDIO AKA have produced a stylized Titles Sequence for the event being held in Vancouver February 12-28. This open is called Inuit.

BAFTA winning Director MARC CRASTE worked with desiger JON KLASSEN in creating the look of the spot, setting the film around a legendary quest, ‘whereby an Inuit hero has to retrieve a spiritual stone that has been taken by a giant Bear from a mystical totem. In the process of his mission our hero draws on his skills in a series of challenging & physically brutal Olympic style sports to recover the precious ice locked stone, thus restoring light and peace to his dark and troubled world’.

There’s a real nice review of Moon Town over at The Webcomic Builder. It’s fun when people “get” what you’re trying to do.

Looks like there are some good resources there, too, for aspiring webcomics folks. If you are so inclined, I would pop over, and see what they’re all about.

twcl-awardsI’m pleased to announce that Moon Town has been nominated in the category of Best New Webcomic 2009 over at The Webcomic List. (NOTE: the site has been very slow and/or not loading today. I guess they’re getting a lot of traffic because of the nomination announcements).

Thanks to the nominating committee, and as they say, it’s good just to be nominated.

Interesting ad that just popped up on the intertubes. If you see Star Wars everywhere like I did when I was 13, then this world will look *very* familiar to you. :)

The original street date for Moon Town book #1 was JAN 15, 2010. However, I took a small detour into tweaking several of the drawings, just little things I wanted to fix (mainly the eyes) so assembling the book has taken a little longer. You can find out more about my progress at Moon Town, but feel free to enjoy the cover preview above while you’re at it.

Hm. Somehow I forgot to mention it here before now. I think I have too many blogs.

But OK. I threatened to bring it back in another format. Go to the new Croaker’s Gorge website and see what I meant.

Since 2003, I have been fortunate enough to work for Sid Meier’s Firaxis Games. Early in my Firaxis career, I was Lead Artist / Art Director on Civilization IV. Below is a video that shows a selection of wonder movies I designed and art directed.
