Moon Town began life as a series of animated short films that I began developing in JAN 2008. The first story arc chronicles the lives of a miner and a security agent who meet on the moon and find themselves accidentally drawn into events that are bigger and more dangerous than they can understand. Since May 2009, I have been putting the story online as a graphic novel / webcomic, with an eye toward creating it as a graphic novel. A short-form comic collecting the first three chapters was released in FEB 2010. The series won best Webcomic 2009, and was voted Best Online Graphic Novel in Baltimore Magazine’s annual Best of Baltimore feature. PROGRESS (Book One):

FLAKES Flakes was the first of what I hoped would be many one-minute animated films. My friends at Bully Entertainment wound up helping me complete the first episode, and it won the Grand Prix for Mobifest LA in 2007 as well as a Silver Addy. Will future episodes appear? Watch this space to be sure. Meanwhile, find out everything you ever wanted to know about the film at the Case Study link below.

HOMEGATE I was fortunate enough not long ago to work on three animated adverts for Swiss real estate company Homegate. I got to work with Bully Entertainment, and the whole project was a lot of fun. Follow the link for the Case Study below to see all three films and see some design sketches and renderings and read a lot of behind-the-scenes info.

Tom Dell’Aringa’s MAROONED Tom Dell’Aringa claims that he began work on his comic strip Marooned without much thought about story. It was to be a gag-a-day cartoon lampooning the hapless stranded astronaut Captain John. However, as most creators do, Tom soon grew restless with that limited story palette and began wanting to tell a story that had a bit more to it. We began tossing story ideas back and forth, and ever since, Marooned has been fleshing out the secret world beneath the Martian surface. In mid 2008, we worked on an animated trailer together, which is a fine introduction to the cartoon, for the uninitiated. I did some narration, some animation. It was a fun project!

CUBICLE PIGS Cubicle Pigs is yet another of those ideas I have that started out as a series of animated films. I have decided to do it as a series of animated shorts, and maybe something longer if the opportunity presents. There’s a work in progress up at the site, and hopefully more soon!

THE LUCKY GUY I was inspired by a trip I took to the Dominican Republic one February, where I was given a little wooden carving called The Lucky Guy. I was originally going to make it into an animated short, but quickly decided it would be quicker to draw it as a comic. That said… uh, I really need to finish it. It’s only half done, but when I getter done, I’ll put up a link here. PROGRESS:
