001 – A Clean Start

I suppose this is a “reboot” of sorts, to use the current Hollywood vernacular. I threatened one day to bring Croaker’s Gorge back in a different format. This is what the new format looks like.

Minor character design tweaks for various reasons that mainly had to do with the reasons I hated drawing the strip in its old format. *shrug* I like drawing it better now.

And now you’re probably going to ask me how frequently it will update. I don’t know. I’m thinking monthly.

I’ll see you in February.  :)

Beautiful work Steve. This strip says a lot. Great format for it for sure. Your grasp on the finer elements of cartooning is astonishing. (Need more hyperbole?) I Love Croakers Gorge. Love the characters and setting. Love the message, the tone. Love it all.

  2. Og

Well, that is far too nice of you, Matt, but I’ll take it!

  3. Major Tom

I have fallen from the awesomeness of this strip, and I can’t get up! As you know I love the new format buddy. Looking forward to many more!

  4. Tony

Great stuff! Seriously, when do you sleep?

  5. Lucas

Dude, where do you find the time?

  6. slo

Boy, the new look to Albert and Howland had me confused for a second….esp. the use of different names!

  7. Og

Slo – you sent me to the Interwebs looking to figure out what you were talking about. Now that I see it’s Pogo, I’m grinning ear to ear. At least… I assume it was a compliment.

  8. Shane

Woah sweet! It’s back! =) Yeah, okay I’m slow, but at least I’m in time for the next page.

  9. Og

Coolness, Shane. I’m in for the next page, too… hmm. Soon? :)

  10. Leisl

Hey wow! I just happened along and a new page is here! Yaaay!
I’d better update my link :D

  11. Og

Thanks, Leisl! I need to find the time to do my next page… YAH!!! It’s February already!
    :)

Awesome!! I was disappointed when it went on hiatus way back when! Very excited it’s back, even if occasionally! =)

  13. Og

Thanks, Jynksie. I’m trying for monthly with an eye toward bi-weekly. :) A fella can dream, can’t he?

I’ve been hearing lots about Croaker’s Gorge and now I finally get to experience it. The format is great, a big page with lots of frames and the style is so much different from Moon Town. Realy amazing and demonstrates your versatility.

Oh my! RoboDad and I did that once! We had a fabulous time watching un-editotially abused LooneyTunes and Merrie Melodies all day. Killed off a cheap bottle of wine RoboDad had brought in to celebrate midnight. Is Leo a stork or a whooping crane? Ya done did gud stuff there, Og. Ain’t no flies on you, buddy.

  16. Og

Welcome to the Gorge, Chris! Glad you approve. It’s different from Moon Town, all right. Dunno if that makes me versatile or unstable. WHOOSH! heh heh…

Tink – Leo’s a Great Blue Heron, though I think you’d be hard pressed to see that from the way I’ve drawn him.

Your work looks fantastic! I can see your passion and love for this craft in every panel. Keep up the great work!
